Getting ready for the Resource Fair!

On September 3rd we have invited the community to help us kick off the new year! As I have prepared for the event, I have been so impressed with how connected My Safe Harbor is to the community. We have OVER 20 social service agencies coming to our fair and we are filled to capacity! It’s going to be an amazing event and a great opportunity to connect our local families to the community agencies they need.

I recently went to the Anaheim Human Services Network meeting with Becky and she introduced me to some of the key social services leaders in the city. They all know her very well and love the work we are doing at My Safe Harbor. They were eager to connect us to new agencies (only to hear we were already connected) and are ready to help us further the mission in any way possible. It was amazing. It was also great to hear about so many other organizations in the community that offer something unique for our clients. I immediately began brainstorming aboutĀ further collaborative possibilities. I am so excited about the response received from other agencies about wanting to be a part of what we do and the difference we can make when we collaborate.

The Resource Fair is our biggest community event and our best chance to get the most people through our doors. We are handing out over 3,000 flyers to our local schools and are planning to have around 500 attendees. Our goal is to register 40 women in our Mother’s Club, Elective Classes, and SFI program that night. In addition to our 20+ agencies in attendance, families will enjoy fun games and music for the kids, eat a free dinner, and get the chance to tour MSH and hear about the services we offer.

If you are not already signed up to volunteer at our Resource Fair, please take a moment to email me. We need more volunteers to help serve dinner and play with the kids. We could not do what we do without your support and time, so thank you to all who have served with us.

Do you know of an organization we should be connected with? Do you want to connect with us or hear more about what we’re doing? Email me at!
